How to Offer Bhog in Guruji’s Darbar || Guru Ji Bhog thali ||
(A simple, heartfelt way, from what I have understood and experienced)
Preparing Guruji Sahib’s Aarti thali is not about how much we add, but about the feeling behind it.
A simple diya, flowers, and pure bhav are enough to complete the offering.
Offering bhog to Guruji is not about abundance. It is not about variety. It is not about creating something elaborate. Because Guruji has always shown us that simplicity is enough.
What Guruji Taught Through His Own Way
In Guruji’s sangat, we often hear what is called a satsang.
A satsang is not a story. It is a lived experience, shared by someone who was present with Guruji. And one such satsang has always stayed with me.
There are moments shared where, if Guruji felt like eating, he would gently ask someone from the sangat to go into the kitchen and check if there were some rotis already prepared.
He would also mention that there might be some chai prasad. And with just that- a simple roti and a cup of chai, he would have his food.

Not only that, he would also offer the same to the sangat present there.
That simplicity… says everything.
Even in his physical form, Guruji never asked for anything grand.
Through these small moments, he showed us that nothing elaborate is needed. He meets us… in the simplest way we can receive him.
What a Simple Bhog Thali Can Look Like
Keeping that in mind, this is what a very basic bhog thali can be:
- Roti (chapati)
- One sabzi
- One dal
- Salad
- Hari chutney
Hari chutney, especially, is something I have often heard was an integral part of Guruji’s bhog. And then, if you wish, you can also include, One meetha (sweet dish) completely optional

That’s it. Nothing more is needed.
It Was Never About the Quantity
Somewhere, Guruji always made this clear. Food was never about showing. It was about:
Nourishment
Intention
Sharing
There is also this quiet feeling that whatever is offered there, comes back as something that heals. Not just physically… but within.
One Small but Important Practice
Always cover Guruji’s bhog thali. It’s a very small act, but it carries a lot of respect.
It’s not just food being placed, it is being offered.
What Actually Matters
You can make everything exactly as mentioned or you can keep it even simpler. That’s completely okay. Because in the end, it is only the bhav.
The feeling of:
- Shukrana
- Surrender
- Quiet presence
That is what completes the offering.
A Small Note from Me
Even today, whenever I prepare bhog for Guruji…
I feel honored. I feel blessed that Guruji has chosen me for it. Something as simple as preparing a meal, placing it in the thali, covering it, feels like something He has allowed me to do in His honor. And that feeling stays with me much longer than the act itself.
And from here… the journey continues into the small, quiet practices that become part of everyday devotion.
In the next part, I will share Simple Daily Rituals in Guruji’s Darbar.
Evam Astu.
With folded hands for Guruji Maharaj.
